This library is a .NET implementation of the OpenTracing API. To fully understand this platform API, it's helpful to be familiar with the OpenTracing project and terminology more generally. For the time being, mild backwards-incompatible changes may be made without changing the major version number. As OpenTracing and opentracing-csharp mature, backwards compatibility will become more of a priority.

Linux, Windows and Mac are first class citizens, but also works everywhere .NET is running (Android, iOS, IOT). Has zero dependencies on thrid-party libraries or any native code. Provides both low-level access to Apache Parquet files, and high-level utilities for more traditional and humanly understandable row-based access. Includes automatic serializer/deserializer from C# classes into parquet files that works by generating MSIL (bytecode) on the fly and is therefore super fast.
